Blue Flags for Beaches in Tenerife

The ‘Blue Flag’ is awarded by the European Environmental Federation (FEE – Federacion Europea de Educacion Ambiental). In order to receive this accolade stringent criteria’s must be fulfilled including good water quality, accessibility for the disabled, the presence of sanitary facilities and lifeguards. For 32 years the Blue Flag has flown for the beach of Playa de La Arena, Santiago del Teide, Tenerife and in Los Gigantes harbour, Tenerife, the flag will fly for the 7th consecutive year.
