Churches Popular in Tenerife

Many people like to visit a church when holidaying in Tenerife. Some visitors like the historical merits of the buildings, while others go to worship.
Here in Tenerife, there are many denominations. Spain and the Canary Islands are Catholic nations, but there is a surprising choice of chapels for non-Catholic worshippers in Tenerife.
In the south of Tenerife, the choice is excellent. There is a Protestant church in Pueblo Canarias in Playa de las Americas and in the Apollo Centre in Los Cristianos there is a Christian Fellowship Church on the upper level, with a British pastor.
Tenerife welcomes all denominations, and again in Los Cristianos, there is a Swedish Church near the beach.
The Catholic Church near the Guardia de Civil office in Playa de las Americas has a priest who speaks wonderful English, should anyone wish to go to confession while visiting Tenerife.
Costa del Silencio, (The Silent Coast) has a thriving Protestant Church and the British Pastor takes care of the resident community of ex-pats who reside there.
Each year Westhaven Bay, in the same area, holds special services, like for instance, one for Remembrance Sunday, when all denominations come together to worship and pay their respects and honour those who fell in battle.
Most towns, cities and villages in Tenerife have Churches the visitor might like to wander round.
Of especial interest in Tenerife, are Weddings and Christenings. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the children and babies, with their accompanying noise, are most welcome.
Many of the Churches here in Tenerife are very beautiful and historic so whether you go to enjoy the service, or merely wish to look around, there is plenty of choice and are well worth a visit.
